Climbing Tower: Camp Small Valley and Camp Archbald
The climbing tower has multiple walls that can accommodate beginners and advanced climbers. Participants are connected by a harness to a rope which is attached to either a belayer or a team belay.
- Camp Archbald’s climbing tower, referred to as Nook Tower is a 4 sided tower. Each wall offers 2 participants a chance to climb/rappel at the same time. There are 2 different climbing walls, a rappel wall and a vertical playpen. At the top of the climbing tower stands a platform where a zip line is connected.
- Camp Small Valley’s climbing tower is a 3 sided tower. Each wall offers participants a chance to climb at the same time. There are 2 different climbing walls and a vertical playpen. There isn't a zip line attached to this climbing tower.
All participants must go through the ‘5’ Finger Contract and listen to the introduction regarding the rules of the course. A group of 15 requires 1 facilitator for the climbing wall. The larger the groups, the more useful it is to have additional facilitators but not required. If you intend on using the zip line at Camp Archbald, you will be required to have a minimum of 2 facilitators.
