Scholarships

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania offers scholarship awards to girls wishing to continue their education at an institution of higher education (either college or technical school).

There are three scholarships for which you can apply:

  • Graduating Senior Scholarship                      
  • Gold Award Scholarship     
  • Schuylkill County Scholarship

All scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduating senior who will attend an institute of higher education (either college or technical school)
  • Demonstrated academic excellence
  • Strong commitment to community service activities
  • Must be a registered member of Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania by December 31, 2015

Gold Award Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient

Schuylkill County Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior residing in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania

In addition to these scholarships, graduating Girl Scouts are eligible for scholarships across the nation. Please check the GSUSA Web site for a complete listing of scholarship opportunities.

Application Timeline:

  • February: Eblasts reminding girls to apply for GSHPA scholarships are sent to all graduating Girl Scouts for whom we have an email address.
  • March 23: Completed applications must be postmarked or delivered by Monday, March 23, 2015 (office closes at 5 p.m.)
    • Late applications will not be considered.
    • Send scholarship applications to GSHPA Corporate Headquarters - Attn: GSHPA Scholarship Committee, 350 Hale Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17104
    • You may hand-deliver or mail your application to the address above.
  • May 30: Recipients will be notified by mail.

Application Procedures:

Scholarship Applications will be available after January 1.

All scholarships support college tuition expenses and will be credited directly to the awardee's account at the institute of higher learning.
